Apartment Review
RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE PEOPLE! INFESTED WITH ANT
Review Date: 6/26/2010
Reviewer: Anonymous

This place looks okay on the surface, but after living here for just a few weeks, I knew I had made a big mistake. First, when I moved in the place smelled horribly and the leasing manager told me that this was secondary to the carpets being recently cleaned and still a little damp, well after a couple weeks, the smell was still there as well as black mold in the corners of my apartment! Not to mention that when the carpets dried, hundreds of stains resurfaced immediately. Then, I started seeing ants occasionally, at first just here and there, but soon I was in the middle of a full spread infestation and there were thoudands of ants everywhere. I had to throw away all the food that I kept in the cabinets because they became infested with ants (yeah, what a rude awakening in the morning when your pouring your cereal into a bowl and see hundreds of ants crawling all though your corn flakes!). The management told me that they would take care of this immediately, but I saw no improvement. They said that they spraying my apartment every two weeks, but the infestation seemed to just get worse. I was always at work when the exterminator was allegedly spraying my apartment, so I was never around to make sure that this actually happened. One time, I put a piece of tape over the door and frame of my apartment on the day that the exterminator was supposed to come and spray. When I got home from work, I saw that the tape was still intact and therefore the door had not been opened. I called the leasing office and the leasing manager assured me that the exterminator had been to my apartment. This place is also so loud that I have to wear ear plugs every night just to partially drown out all the loud music, yelling, and etc. I don't know if the walls are paper thin or if I just have exceptionally loud neighbors but my time here has been plagued with the worse sleep that I have ever had. There is also absolutely no parking available unless you pay an extra $30.00/mo. On top of all this, just before my lease was up, I got a notice on my door stating that they were going to raise my rent by $75.00 (in this economy!) and that I had to immediately sign a new 12-month lease with the increased rent, or move out by the 1st of the month, or pay $1,000/mo for a month-to-month lease (for a 1 bedroom apartment!). I am so glad to be almost out of here. I have just until July 1st and then this hell will be over. I am not the type of person to go online and write a horrible review...this is the first review I have ever written. But I wish that someone would have steered me away from this dump...It would have saved me a lot of time, money, and sleepless nights.
