Apartment Review for Darco Inc - Seattle, WA

I do not think Jerry Ames is an honest manager. When I moved in, parts of the apartment were dirty (blinds, walls, carpet)even though renters are required to pay a non-refundable deposit to clean those things, and the apartment smelled for a week until I had cleaned it enough myself. I tried to report what I thought was an electrical problem and he never answered. One of the washing machines only sends out very hot water. I cleaned the apartment some before I left, including stuff he was supposed to have cleaned before I moved in, and he charged me at least $80 on top of the non-refundable $200 cleaning deposit. When I had to sign the lease, he acted impatient, so I signed it before reading it. Don't let him make you make that mistake. Write down every little thing which is wrong with the apartment on your check-in, even things which you can tell have been missing, broken, or smashed for a long time. Bring a person who will help you feel safe if you know you cannot stand up for yourself. Rent somewhere else if you can. I think this management company cannot be trusted.
