Apartment Review for 510 Place - Seattle, WA

I have lived here for three years now, and I love it. I am really surprised at how many horrible things previous reviewers have said. My guess is that they were some of the obnoxious tenants or first time renters that just don't know what's kosher or not when it comes to living in an apartment building. The price for the units, which include secure parking, washer/dryer, disposal etc. and the location make them really hard to complain about. My guess is that the people that didn't like this place weren't living in reality...if you want beautiful perfection, manangers that kiss up to you and super prompt maintenance, you need to live in one of the buildings that are managed by a company, not individual, and you'll be paying a whole lot more. I look at it this way, you get what you pay for. The units are very clean and spacious. The building manager does her best to ensure that any items that need attention are fixed promptly, based on the need. For instance, I had issues with my refrigerator when I first moved in and it was fixed right away. I also had a minor issue with an outlet not working and that took a bit longer, but it did get fixed. If you want a nice, spacious apartment that is safe and you are realistic about what your responsibilities are vs. the building manger's, you would like it here. However, if you are high maintenance, don't want to do anything yourself and expect concierge type service, you just need to live in a more expensive building, run by a management company. I don't think that the previous reviewers realize that the current manager is hired by the owners, and the owners are the ones that dictate and approve how their manager deals with things. It's actually a very nice, safe, quiet place. I plan to live here until I can buy a house.
